Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6

Black 12 from 6./JG 2, Flown by Unteroffizier Willibald Reimer, Creil/France, 3 January 1944

This day after the 6th Staffel JG 2 intercepted a formation of Typhoons from 198 Squadron Uffz. Reimer claimed his first abschusse near Marissel, the machine JR523 was flown by F/O Henry Hector MacKenzie (RCAF) who was killed. This would be the only claim that was filed by Reimer who himself was killed 2.5 months later, on 16 March, shot down over Clastres after combating USAAF P-47 Thunderbolts.
