Focke Wulf Fw 190 D-9

White 9, flown by Feldwebel Otto Kleinert, 1./JG 2, Zellhausen/Germany, 21 March 1945

On this day, 21 March 1945 Fw. Otto Kleinert took off from Zellhausen to intercept a group of incoming USAAF P-51 Mustangs.

During the dog-fight the engine of "Weisse 6" was hit and Kleinert was forced to make a belly landing near Mannheim-Sandhofen.

The "Dora" was later stipped of parts and was later found in a derelict state and photographed by the allies.

I have had acces to the phot of this machinne since 2019, however with no infomation it was not util I recived my college Erik Momeeks´s latest book "Histroire de la JG 2, volume 6; 1944-1945" that I finally was able to make the photo into a aircraft profile.

Please note that after checking the camouflage of this Fw 190 D-9 it probebly belonged to the 401XXX block.

This Fw 190 D-9 profile would be included in one of my upcoming profile book.
