Avia S-93 (Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a)

Black V-36, from 5. Letecky Pulk,
Prague/Kbely/Czechoslovakia 1950

After the end of World War II a number of of German jet airplanes including the Me 262 remained in Bohemia and Moravia including engines and other Me 262 parts, however not the entire aircraft as they have been confiscated by the Allies.

Nevertheless, the Czech engineers engaged in the development and 27 August 1946 the first prototype of the Avia S-92 flew, piloted by Anthony Kraus. The first production example was officially passed to Czechoslovak Air Force on 24 June 1948

In total Czechoslovak Air Force received nine single seat fighter aircraft S- 92 (Me- 262A) and three two-seat combat trainer aircraft CS- 92 (Me- 262B). This particular Avia S-92 was the sixth produced and sported a Mickey Mouse on the front fuselage.

This new profile is one of two Czech Avia S-92 profiles made by me during the last weeks, more would follow as I plan to make additional Avia produced fighters like the S-199 (Bf 109).

This profile would hopefully be included in a future Profile book, who knows?
