This aircraft 44-63497
was the second "Angel's Playmate" Mustang assigned
to Carr in March 1945. In this P-51 Mustang Carr would add all
of his 7.5 confirmed victories.
The most notable claimes was was filed by him on 2 April when
Carr became an ace in a day by downing three Fw 190s and another
two Me 109s over Kronach Beyreuth. This clash was described by
Carr:
"It was really a piece of cake. They were in two circles
when we hit them, and they seemed to sit there while I fired
away. Of course there were times during the combat that I had
enemy aircraft on my tail while I was attacking, but fortunately
they were poor shots"

B. W. Carr on 8 May 1945.
