I have just received Claes' brand new Profile Book No.16. After the expanded Profile Book No. 15 Claes has now returned to the familiar format of 130 Luftwaffe aircraft profiles in chronological order. The book begins with a Bf 109 A from Legion Condor in 1937 (finished overall in the mysterious color Silberweiss) and ends with a Bf 109 K-4 in May 1945. In between there are 128 profiles of various German day fighters, mostly Bf 109s and Fw190s but also some jet and rocket aircraft. In addition, there is a foreword by Claes and an index of all nine books produced so far.The standard of the profiles is, as always, outstanding with a keen eye for detail. The captions are most helpful for both historians and modellers with references to Werk numbers and RLM color codes. Personal favorites are Gordon Gollob's Bf 109 G-2/R6 (which also can be found on the cover) and Horst Ademeit's Bf 109 G-2 with a worn white distemper over the JG 54 greens. Where did I put that chipping fluid...Highly recommended! More good news is that this book will be followed by Profile Book No. 17 later this year.

I could not have expressed my impression of this marvelous work better than 'Fritz/Germany' - I fully endorse his comments! In addition, two aspects have increasingly pleased me in your latest works. For one, it is the index at the beginning of the book, ever so often supported by further references in the individual texts of the profiles. In addition, I very much like the sometimes very specific comments regarding small details in respect of the camouflage and markings and/or pointing out to some details regarding the airframe itself. This has in quite a few cases intrigued me to closely check photos of the particular plane in my own library, which resulted quite often in discovering details which I had overlooked previously... Keep up your excellent and highly professional work - needless to say that I am very much looking forward to your next book! Best Regards,
