On
this date Oblt. Franziskets I./JG 27 was based vest of El Alamein
participated in escorts for Ju 87 Stukas attacking in support
of German panzer trusts towards the Brittish at Sidi Barrani.
During
this month the I./JG 27 claimed 28 Abschüssen for no loss,
the rising "Star of Africa" Lt. Hans-Joachim Marseille
acconted for no less than eight of them,
Fransizkeit
himself manange to down one, a Hurricane, shot down on 9 September
30 km East of Sidi Barrani for his 23rd Abschüsse.
