As a profile maker that based most if not all my of my profiles by using black and white photos, one is sometimes faced with dilemmas regarding the plane's actual camouflage.

This Bf 109 G-6 from Flieger Regement. 2 is one example. After it was refurbished and upgraded it was repainted in a rather attractive camouflage pattern.

Others, including other artists have drawn the conclusion that this machine was repainted in a green and light brown camouflage, camouflage colors that looks like the German colors RLM 79 and RLM 80.

However, I find this to be less plausible, why would Germany supply other colors to Switzerland than the ones the planes was delivered in, and why then deliver camouflage colors that can be characterized as "desert colors".

Therefor I conclude that this aircraft was instead repainted in its original gray colors of RLM 74/RLM 75 with an underside painted in RLM 76.

What is the truth maybe researchers and fellow enthusiasts from Switzerland could clarify for all of us, so that we finally would settle this matter.

This profile is one of 13 Swiss Bf 109 profiles made by me during last months, including six Bf 109 G-6.

One of those profiles would hopefully be included in a future Profile book, who knows?
